Hello lovely readers! Apologies for dropping off the radar last week; some unforeseen circumstances made it impossible to write the readings and record the check in for October. As a thank you for bearing with me, I’ll be publishing the Monthly Check-In to all subscribers tomorrow along with a few other extra tidbits. Sending all the love!

This week sees us stepping onto the solid ground of the pentacles suit. It’s a time to gather collaborators close, get excited about new beginnings, and to continue working on crafting the blueprints for our emerging plans.
What do you want to make real in your life? What relationships (both work and personal) fill you with inspiration and a burgeoning sense of camaraderie?
The Three of Pentacles invites us to look around us at what we’ve been building. It’s entirely possible that your efforts are obvious - why yes I have been starting a new business!/committing to a new health routine!/launching a creative collaboration! - but you may also be unsure of where this growth is happening. In this case, adopt an attitude of curiosity. See if you can find hidden progress in the pentacles areas of your life: work, health, routine, and sexuality. Like a sprout secretly growing under a log, you might find something that’s far more alive and advanced than you imagined. (And coming into being on its own accord and timeline - how exciting!)
Our key task at the beginning of the week, one we’ve identified the most important pentacles growth points, is to bring our dreams, plans, and progress-to-date into the light. In doing so, we’ll magnetize the connections and opportunities - the next steps, if you will - we need to grow.
Just look at the contrast between the grey, stony interior of the Three of Pentacles and the vibrant yellow of our next card, the Four of Wands. It’s likely that stepping out of the shadows and leaving the world of planning and preliminary actions will require some adjustment. It may even feel frightening, intimidating, or premature. But we can absolutely navigate this shift in brilliance; our sprout needs light, after all! Let your friends, partners, and allies of all stripes buoy you as you move forward and do the same for others.
If this week’s reading as a theme, it’s absolutely the power of community. Reach out, hype up the endeavors of your friends, lend a hand where you can, and focus on endeavors that are built on or highlight collaboration and cooperation.
Our reading has a satisfyingly straightforward narrative: the plans we’ve hatched with others in the inner-chambers of the Three of Pentacles come into the light via the Four of Wands mid-week, and by the end of the week we’re engrossed in taking care of business. The Seven of Wands, while undeniably depicting intense focus, shows us enjoying flexing our muscles and getting things done. Let the moment show you want you need to accomplish, rise to the occasion and take care of it, and then move on to what’s next.
The wands suit, with its connection to the element of fire, asks us to keep things moving, oxygenated, and fueled. Having two wands cards after the earthy pentacles shows a good plan coming into focus and gaining momentum. We leave the planning and conceptual stage this week and are thrown into a time of action. With this in mind, it’ll be wise to invest our time in practices that calm our nervous systems and nourish our spirits. (In other words, reading into the negative space of the spread, we can see that we’re missing the water of cups and the air of swords.) Cups related practices will be especially important - meditating, giving and receiving affection, spiritual rituals, and so much more - and act as buckets of water we can keep nearby the fire we’re building.
Yet beyond this risk for burnout, there’s little standing in our way this week when it comes to our new projects and plans. Enjoy the clarity of the moment wherever it appears and focus on the doing for now; analyzing and processing can come later. Let what’s working work for you so that you can do the work that’s sustaining and meaningful and, most excitingly, moving you forward.
This week embrace:
Putting the finishing touches on your plans
Consulting with trusted friends, advisors, and even ancestors/spiritual guides
Launching, debuting, sharing, or promoting what you’ve been working on
Uplifting the messages and projects of your friend and allies
Community, collaboration, collective action
Trusting yourself to take care of what needs to be done as it arises
Getting lost in the rhythm of work across all areas of your life: career, family, community, and more
This week avoid:
Losing focus or abandoning new/new-ish projects
Self-isolation, a myopic view of possibilities, old and ill-fitting ways of thinking
Traditionalism (the Four of Wands is zesty and loves new structures, approaches, and arrangements!)
Panicking in the face of busyness - what if the sudden increase in action is a sign of success? (Bonus: it’s also temporary. We won’t feel swamped forever.)
