Welcome to March’s Intuitive Forecast!

Hello, dear readers, what a time it’s been. We’re already five days into March, and I’m just now sharing our intuitive forecast; things have been evolving messily, we just made it through a potent lunar eclipse, and it turns out that the last few days of our tour through February’s theme card, the Ten of Swords, was quite a doozy.

How have you been moving through it all?

Thank you, too, for bearing with me as I iron out the new format for Incandescent Tarot/Alchemag and adjust to this new cadence.

To get it out of the way, the nuts and bolts of the new structure are this:

  • I’ll be publishing forecasts and podcast episodes onto the Incandescent Tarot podcast feed. Make sure to subscribe wherever you get podcasts for immediate access!

  • I’ll also be sending out a post from Alchemag announcing episodes with brief updates, announcements, and reflections.

  • The written extras - embrace/avoid, in/out, journal prompts, and tarot spreads - will appear underneath behind a payall. I’m averse to paywalls, but also have to honor the fact that this work takes… a lot of work! The leap from Substack has me starting the subscription base over from scratch, so this is a way to invite support, and I’ll be adding more perks as we go.

  • This issue, however, will be paywall-free! Enjoy and explore, and If you like what you see consider supporting the work by subscribing below:

MARCH’S THEMES

  • Fundamental Truths

  • Directness

  • Emotional Bravery

  • Risking the Unknown

  • Homecoming

  • Love and Abundance

Intuitive Impression

The trepidation of walking down a new path and the feeling of wanting to turn back being overridden by the curiosity of what’s over the ridge. Feeling the sun about to come up before the light changes.

Big Shift

From the Ten of Swords to the King of Swords

This one is powerful. We might feel too injured and tired from our experience of the Ten of Swords (I certainly feel humbled over here!), but we’re also in touch with some precious and fundamental truths, and its time to wield them with the power and responsibility of the King of Swords. It’s a profound moment of leveling up; growing up and into ourselves and awakening to our power to shape the world around us.

In

  • Admitting, welcoming, and integrating newly-revealed and fundamental truths

  • Knowing past darkness so you don’t repeat it

  • Self-forgiveness

  • Forthrightness, honesty & decisiveness - cutting to the chase

  • Self-defined success, the beauty of interconnectedness

  • Loving leaps of faith

  • Being brave enough to see the entirety of the situation

  • Letting yourself be happy

Out

  • Ongoing dissolution, struggle, and collapse (yay!)

  • Choosing the safety of confusion when clarity is actually emerging

  • Flop eras

  • Tangled narratives, the drama of things going wrong, obsessively trying to figure out what happened

  • Burdensome illusions, pressure, and disempowering stories

  • Lunar confusion, wobbly visions (look to past two months for context!)

WORDS FOR MARCH

Coherence // Responsibility // Wholeheartedness

This reading is at once encouraging and confrontational. When we see the King of Swords, especially after a sequence of challenging swords cards (we’ve been dealing with both the Three and Ten in recent readings - the grizzliest of the bunch!), we can be sure that we’ve reached a hard-won moment of achievement and clarity.

Yet as I mentioned in the description of our transition from February’s Ten of Swords —> King of Swords, this might not feel immediately obvious or comfortable. It is, however, undeniably here. Look for personal coherence - what have you learned through hard-won and often painful experiences? How have you been cohering into a full person, embracing the totality of yourself: the good, the bad, the spiritual and mundane? The victory here is integration. Swords are two-sided, and The King of Swords shows a person who has earned an understanding of their full power, both the creative and destructive, making them both potent and trustworthy, a whole person who knows themselves.

Awakening to this means awakening to our responsibility. Now that we know the power of our sword - that it can do both good and bad - we can choose to use it to uphold our responsibilities. This word gets overwhelmed by connotations of oppressive obligation - a parent reminding a child to do their chores - but here it’s more about the beauty and abundance of the Ten of Cups. How can we use our will, words, and vision to shape, honor, uplift, and protect the beautiful and loving parts of our life?

And this brings us to wholeheartedness. Our challenge this month is to avoid the pitfalls of measurable success shown in the Six of Wands. There’s a danger of letting expectations that aren’t even based in our fundamental truth dictate our effort and attention. Going for the wands-y themes of action, forward motion, and personal recognition may actually be a way we protect our tender hearts and soft underbellies. Watch out for hiding behind productivity, planning, strategizing, and busywork. Choosing to move towards the open, loving, and interconnected Ten of Cups is actually the brave move here, and one that can bring about so much meaning and beauty - the reward for taking the emotional risks of the Eight of Cups.

TAROT SPREAD

Undeniable Truths with The King of Swords

This is one I designed for myself - to get the squiggly, avoidant bits of me to stop hemming and hawing and running the show. There are some big truths I need to pin down after all the intensity of the Ten of Swords. To both get things straight and to prevent avoidant backslides into “confusion.” I hope this reading helps you, too. It’s designed to result in immediate recognition. Look for an intuitive “a ha!,” whatever comes to your mind (or heart) when you turn the card over.

Below:

Card 1: Encouragement!

Read top array from left to right:

Card 2: A claifying truth about your past that can shape the present. A loose end that’s tied, a question that’s answered.

Card 3: A truth about yourself.

Card 4: A truth about what you want.

Card 5: A truth about what you love.

Optional add-ons: A truth about what to do next, a truth about what success actually means to you.
