We’re finally here, at the last month of 2025!

Surprisingly, I’m feeling buoyed in this last phase of the year. So much has changed, and after months defined by the stark contrast between joy and chaos, a creative resurgence is starting to build.

Which leads me to an exciting announcement, because while many things may have changed, some things are apparently eternal, such as…

The Year Ahead Forecasts!!!

This is, what, the second (third?) year I’ve waffled about retiring this offering? These puppies are dense! (Lovingly) laborious! And an enduring fan favorite.

Seriously, if enough people email me about an offering, I will amost definitely relaunch it, which is exactly what’s happening here. I just can’t deny you lovely readers (alchemagicians??). Truly, this practice is centered around you, and it fills my tarot-loving heart to have the support and enthusiasm of such a lovely community.

So, if you’d like to get a comprehensive, immersive, and delightfully magical personalized tarot reading for 2026, now’s your chance.

After getting feedback from fans of the forecasts, I’ve decided to keep the audio version of the reading. It’s DELIGHTED me to hear that many of you return to the recordings throughout the year, listening to them while walking or taking a ritual bath (!! my favorite) and I have to say nothing replaces the magic of a live reading you can take with you wherever you go.

I’m also crafting two versions of the forecast: ESSENTIAL & DELUXE.

Essential gets you a full recording of your reading (these are always done live and unedited so you get the full experience of a custom reading), a photo of your spread, and a single page PDF month-by-month summary of the year.

Deluxe is the same but with a much longer PDF that goes into each month in-depth and a full page exploration of your card of the year.

This is the one to choose if you want the classic Year Ahead experience, plus it’s where I’m likely to add on some extras - these forecasts are very much an emergent practice and, if anything’s become clear over the years, I have no chill with tarot; expect innovative add-ons and a few surprises.

Finally, to end this cavalcade of promotion, these readings also make an incredibly memorable gift. Simply add your special person’s info at checkout and I’ll do the rest.

I’m limiting the amount available since these readings are so complex, so do check them out sooner rather than later!

And now onto our exploration of the busy, complex, and magical month of December…

Best always,

DECEMBER’S THEMES

  • Victory

  • Arrival

  • Mischief

  • Innovation

  • Romance

  • Beauty

Intuitive Impression

Solitude at a gentle seashore, the waves lapping at the fine sand. Collecting stones and seashells washed up from an impressive storm long gone. Turning away and walking inland with pockets full of foraged treasures.

In

  • Self-promotion as a public service

  • Leaving the party early with likeminded people and staying up late talking in your living room

  • Laughing at limiting beliefs, snickering at closed-mindedness, guffawing at attachment to control

  • Getting WEIRD

  • Writing poems and love letters to anyone and everyone

  • Pioneering new reasons to weep meaningfully

Out

  • Running around like a (charming) chicken with its head cut off

  • Endless to-do lists, harebrained schemes

  • Treating yourself like an amateur and pretending to not know what you want

  • Overfilling your social calendar, then complaining about it

  • Lugubriously contemplating the past

  • Trying to reclaim youth out of panic

  • Keeping it cool

We enter into December in a literal victory parade! The Six of Wands places us amidst a moment of arrival, showing us how the ideas we pioneered in November, when we had both the visionary Two of Wands and the intrepid Page of Wands in our reading, have quite literally grown legs. No longer alone on the ground, we’re now astride a majestic horse, suggesting that our path has accelerated, our drive has sharpened, and our means of conveyance have become more… muscular.

Think about how your ideas - once hypothetical, even far-fetched, and known only to you - have taken off. People are gathering to your cause and you’re gathering to the causes of others.

The signs of success are all around us if we’re brave enough to look; sometimes, the Six of Wands can be surprisngly challenging to work with, especially for those of us allergic to praise and recognition. Take some time to gently adress the parts of yourself that shrink back from this positive attention, hear them out, offer reassurance, and then let yourself walk towards the adoration.

Positive feedback, collaboration, and movement are all important ways to continue the cycle of creativity and change that’s afoot this month. It’s also a time when the frenzy of creative ideation settles into more sustainable growth. How? Through teamwork, mutual support, and community.

The Six of Wands shows us how we must sing the praises of both ourselves and others, join in celebration, and welcome feedback. Expect to open your projects to others this month, both to get help and input, and don’t underestimate the power of word-of-mouth. Gatherings of all sorts will help bring in surprising support and forward motion. Plus, it’s important to let ourselves bask in the rejuvenating glow of a good time after all the hard work we’ve done in November.

I’m so tickled to see that our central card, the Seven of Swords, was also our ā€œwild cardā€ last month. I’ve been keeping this one close over the past few weeks (and it’s also shown up in quite a few client readings). How have you been using humor, irreverence, and rebellion as a tool? To initiate change, shake things up, and break out of your comfort zone? This month we’ll be committing even further to these strategies and pushing our work to a new level in the process.

You might also remember that our final card from November was the Six of Swords, giving us a clear path of progression into the Seven this month. A newfound sense of levity and freedom may be emerging around previously sensitive and bittersweet issues, particularly regarding family, lineage, and the past. Welcome this shift, even (especially) if it feels ā€œtoo easy.ā€

Ease, in fact, is a big theme this month and it’ll be important to decouple it from current effort. What if the smoothness you experience now is because of effort you exerted in the past? I have the feeling we’ll be doing battle with imposter syndrome and worthiness this month, so have your healing arguments ready at hand!

A river of emotion is growing underneath these cards and bursts forth at the end of the month with the passionate, tender, and meaning-seeking Knight of Cups. We’re growing into a core part of ourselves, one that’s unafraid to wear their heart on their sleeves and go off galloping towards beauty, connection, and the transcendent.

Allow yourself to emulate this knight. Emote, seek out art that moves you to tears, and share your loftiest dreams and most cherished values. Because the Knight of Cups also moves quickly by horseback, their growth is deeply connected with the Six of Wands from earlier. How has your recent success and newfound recognition joined forces with or inspired your spiritual and emotional growth? See how you can allow these two areas to cross pollinate and inspire each other. Does your work need more meaning or your meaning need more work? Have fun finding out the answers.

I have a feeling that this month is one of surprising integration. Delight and ease spring from a long path of self-examination, hard, work, and faith. Let yourself get swept up in the flow of growth, change, and joy; December is a time when the energies of the universe meet up with each of our smaller individual rivers. Joining the confluence can carry us towards the expansive shores of the new year together.

Embrace

  • Gatherings: social events, celebrations, talks, and more

  • Positive feedback, both giving and receiving

  • Letting your successes sink in and sustain you

  • Pride in your accomplishments

  • Brief moments of respite

  • Humor, irreverence, naughtiness

  • New ways of thinking

  • Detaching from the herd/established ways of thinking

  • Art and inspiration: seek out what entices you

  • Spiritual practices, dreamwork, divination, belief

Avoid

  • Self-deprecation

  • Seeing recent success as signs you’re done with a project or path - keep going!

  • False modesty

  • Letting humor turn into biting commentary, scorn, or cruelty - it should express growth, not mask other emotions

  • Using fantasy to distract you from what’s growing (yes, we might be tempted to run away from all the goodness that’s emerging. Why? Try to find out!

WILD CARD

Intellectual Bravery with the King of Swords

Why hello! This card is introducing a nice tonic of gravitas to our reading! A card that trusts in their own perceptions and ideas, the King reminds us that behind our motion, energy, and ambition is a wealth of experience and a sharp and discerning mind. Put simply, this card reminds us to take no shit this month. If we remain grounded in our values and experience, we can be confident in our choices. Don’t mince words, let others steamroll you, or minimize your intelligence. This king knows things and so do we.

Words for December

Authenticity // Risk // Calling

These three concepts come together in our reading, asking us to feel into the path that’s been emerging throughout the year. It’s unconventional and deeply specific to each of us. The Hermit has given 2025 the focus of personal calling. What is it you’ve been brought onto this earth to pursue, explore, uncover? Consider the risks you’ve taken and are being asked to take as you chart this course and how your specific self is manifesting greater themes.

CHANNELING

How to embody the cards this month

SIX OF WANDS

ACTIONS

  • Dress up in your best finery and go out to be seen

  • Share one idea or plan you’ve been keeping secret

  • Travel somewhere spontaneously

TAROT SPREAD

Card One: What brought me to this moment of success?

Card Two: What does this success have to teach me?

Card Three: How does this success want to be celebrated?

SEVEN OF SWORDS

This whole video might be my moodboard for 2026

ACTIONS

  • Watch the silliest, stupidest movie that makes you laugh

  • Revisit what made you roll on the floor laugh in middle school

  • Practice speaking up when you disagree with something, especially if you dont have the perfect words

INSPIRATION

My Perfect Cousin by The Undertones. Has a cheekier song ever been written? This, to me, captures the insoucient, creative, and angsty energy of the Seven of Swords perfectly! Blast this as you brainstrom ways to humoriously channel your rage, jealousy, or irritation.

KNIGHT OF CUPS

ACTIONS

  • Do something to create a world: write a poem, redecorate a space, draw a map of an imaginary land

  • Spend an afternoon following your intuition and instinct, looking for signs as you go

INSPIRATION

Hild by Nicola Griffith captures the intersection of intuition and observation, myth and history, self-determination and fate in a way that feels very Knight of Cups. Like the Knight, Hild traverses difficult terrain both seeking and creating meaning as she goes. Recommended those who love historical fiction, immersive world building, and complex and shifting alliances.
