This is such a digestible, dare I say straightforward reading! It’s rare to see something so mundane in tarot and so, before we go into the details, I’d like to highlight that this week is a wonderful time to just let life be boring.

Or as boring as we’ll let it be. The Seven of Wands shows us contending with lots of tasks, engrossed in the action-packed world of wands whether we like it or not. Whenever I get this card I try to remind myself that tension is a part of life and that in moving forward we take advantage of the gift of being alive - doctors appointments and budgeting and carpooling included.

Hidden in the busyness and occasional angst of the Seven of Wands is an opening for insight and even a flash of enlightenment. The sevens are all mysterious, dealing with initiations and portals into new ways of knowing. They’re also tricky and inscrutable. We have to trust that the wisdom is coming our way and a true sign this is happening may be that we feel blah, annoyed, or even a little lost.

Is there something emerging in life that you’ve been approaching with a little more energy, zest, and determination? Notice where you find yourself willing and even ready to fight. There’s the potential for overwhelm and even a little conflict, but this is something to lean into. Let pushback motivate you, keep going, and see how annoyance and a tight schedule may actually help clarify what it is that you’re willing to invest your time and energy in.

While daily life is requiring us to be agile, responsive, and intrepid, there’s an important new focus that’s starting to sprout and it’s pushing through the earth element of the pentacles suit. If you’ve been weighing questions of career, home, health, or money, now might be a time when your next step comes into focus.

Last month the Two of Pentacles represented an area of opportunity and growth. Look to June to see where you were able to be playful and flexible: What did you learn about yourself as you lightened your expectations, let go, and simply played around? This week is a wonderful time to revisit and continue this work. Try new things, release expectations, and embrace freedom where you can find it.

This week’s reading is a little cheeky in that it’s teasing a potential breakthrough, but could also simply represent a return of the Two of Pentacles energy from last month. Our final card,The Page of Pentacles, is where I’m getting the intrigue. Are we figuring out our next step, starting a path of study or project that will take us somewhere important related to the big questions we were asking in June? Or are we simply experiencing the same flavor in a different context, savoring it and following our focus?

Perhaps that enjoyment is important in its own way and the youngness of our cards - the two and the page - invite us to release expectation and splash around by the shore, not knowing whether we’ll set out to sea towards something more lasting and solid.
